What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file sent with web pages and stored by your browser on your device. Similar storage mechanisms such as your browser's localStorage work in much the same way. On subsequent visits the stored information can be read again.

Which cookies we use

We use only strictly necessary cookies and similar storage mechanisms to operate this website. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not embed social media content. However, when you visit pages with embedded Google Maps, Google may set third-party cookies.

Categories

  • Strictly necessary storage: Ensures that basic functions of the website work correctly (for example remembering your cookie banner choice). No consent required.
  • Third-party cookies from embedded content: Set by external services (in our case only Google Maps on the contact page) when their content loads. These cookies are set on the third-party's own domain, not on hitso.ch.

Consent

On your first visit a banner informs you about our use of cookies. When you click Accept or Reject, your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the localStorage entry in your browser settings. The banner will then reappear on your next visit.

Disabling and deleting cookies

You can delete cookies and localStorage entries in your browser automatically or manually. You can block specific cookies or configure your browser to notify you when cookies are placed. Disabling localStorage entirely may cause the cookie banner to reappear on every visit.

Your rights

You have the right to know why we need personal data, what we do with it, and how long we retain it. You can request access, rectification, deletion or restriction of your data, withdraw your consent, and request a portable copy of your data. A detailed overview of your rights is available in our Privacy policy.

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@hitso.ch.
